Fractal Literary Magazine

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

Someone said art should "disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed." Fractal seeks work of that vein. We want stories and poems that will have us fighting the urge to plagiarize. Send us your best and your brightest—the work that will remind us why we first fell in love with language. Write about what keeps you up at night. Give us an adventure. Take us somewhere new.

Submissions are blind, so please don't include your name or contact info anywhere in the document. Don't worry, Submittable will tell us who you are after we've sent a response.

No novel excerpts or previously published material. (Anything posted on a personal blog is fine, but we'll ask that you take it down.) Simultaneous submissions are ok, but please withdraw them immediately if they're accepted elsewhere. Upon acceptance, Fractal reserves First Serial Rights. We'll ask your permission if we want to re-publish your work in an anthology or collection later on. Please wait six months before submitting after your last acceptance. Regrettably, we're unable to pay with anything more than a contributor's copy. Maybe someday.
